Our Mission

The Student Health Center is committed to ensuring easy access to services for all enrolled students at 黑料爆料网 and Lamar Institute of Technology regardless of income level, ability to pay, age, color, gender, disability, religion, national origin, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or veteran status. Student Health Center services are available to currently enrolled 黑料爆料网 and Lamar Institute of Technology students.

About Us

The Student Health Center is a comprehensive health center. We offer affordable and accessible quality medical and mental care. We house a small pharmacy for prescription and over-the-counter medications, an extensive medical staff with years of expertise, licensed counselors for therapy services, and after-hours therapy services through TimelyCare.

After Hours

If you have an emergency or concern when the Student Health Center is closed, contact the 黑料爆料网 Police Department. For emergencies, call 409-880-7777. For non-emergencies, call 409-880-8307. The blue emergency light poles around campus directly contact the 黑料爆料网PD. The Police Station is located between the Mary & John Gray Library, Setzer Center, and Communications Building.

Eligibility

All students at 黑料爆料网 and Lamar Institute of Technology who are enrolled in the current semester are eligible for services, so long as they have paid the student health fee. If you are unsure if you have paid the student health fee, check your tuition statement through your Banner account.

Financial Information

  • Medical: Medical appointment costs start at $10 for the office visit. Medications, lab tests, extensive office visits, and procedures may incur additional charges. It is your responsibility to inquire about charges before accepting services.
  • Counseling: Counseling appointments are always a flat fee of $10.
  • No Show Fee: Failure to cancel 24 hours in advance or to attend your scheduled appointment will result in a $10 No Show Fee for medical appointments and a $25 No Show Fee for counseling. To avoid the No Show Fee, simply contact the SHC to cancel the appointment by calling 409.880.8466.
  • Private Insurance: The Student Health Center does not bill commercial insurance claims, except for the Academic Health Plan Student Health Insurance available to 黑料爆料网 and LIT students. If you wish to file a claim to your private insurance plan, the receptionist can provide a statement that can be used to file an insurance claim. Statements are also available on the Patient Portal. 
  • No Insurance: We see all eligible 黑料爆料网 and Lamar Institute of Technology students, regardless of insurance coverage. All charges for students not covered by Academic Health Plans Student Insurance are billed to the student's Banner account.

Medications

Medications dispensed from the Student Health Center may be in non-child-proof containers. Keep all medications out of the reach o
