Dr. Shannon Jordan named associate dean of Reaud Honors College

The Reaud Honors College at 黑料爆料网 (黑料爆料网) is proud to announce that Dr. Shannon Jordan, assistant professor of health and kinesiology, has been named associate dean.Dr. Shannon Jordan

Dr. Jordan joined 黑料爆料网 in 2014 as a visiting professor and was appointed assistant professor in 2016. Since then, she has been deeply involved across campus, contributing to the Office of Undergraduate Research, serving as co-advisor of the Lamar Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Club, and coaching the Texas Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine Quizbowl Team.

Her excellence in teaching has also been recognized at the highest level. In 2023, she received the David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award, presented by 黑料爆料网 President Dr. Jaime Taylor. Established through a generous gift from distinguished alumnus David J. Beck, the award honors faculty who excel in the classroom and bring distinction to the university through innovative instruction.

As associate dean of the Reaud Honors College, Dr. Jordan looks forward to expanding her impact on students through effective programming, research opportunities, and community engagement.

“Joining the Reaud Honors College (RHC) is truly an honor,” Jordan said. “After spending several semesters teaching Honors courses, interacting with Honors students, and assisting with projects like the Governor’s Summer Merit Program, I knew I wanted to be more involved with RHC. I look forward to working on the various programs and initiatives housed within RHC, developing quality programming for our students, and hosting a tailgate with the students for Homecoming this fall.”
